Editorial Requirements

Due to the high volume of editorial submissions received by both Electrical Review and Data Centre Review, it is essential that each contribution adheres to a clear set of standards to ensure our audience is served with the best quality content.

These standards apply to all contributions. Failure to meet these requirements may result in articles being declined, and it is at the full discretion of our editorial team. If you have any questions regarding these editorial requirements, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We advise you to review all submissions carefully to ensure they adhere to our guidelines prior to submission.

Our editorial requirements are as follows:

  • Vendor Neutrality – All articles must refrain from promoting any product, service, or solution. This is an opportunity to showcase expertise in the subject matter, not a promotional activity. Any promotional activity will be labelled an ‘advertorial’ and will require payment before publication.
  • Exclusivity – All submissions must be exclusive to Electrical Review or Data Centre Review. This means they should not be published anywhere else, including company blogs, prior to our publication.
  • Word Count – For op-eds, we require at least 700 words, and while there is no strict upper limit, we advise no more than 1,200 words.
  • Use of AI – All articles will be scanned and checked for AI usage prior to publication. If flagged for excessive AI usage, the article will be disqualified for publication.
  • Narrative – A strong, cohesive viewpoint or narrative is required; articles should provide analysis, personal opinion, or predictions, rather than purely listing facts.
  • Author Information – All op-eds need to be attributed to a specific person, or persons. This means we require a short bio and photograph of the author to publish alongside the article.
  • Fact Checking – All authors are responsible for fact-checking and accuracy. If using statistics, you should state your source.
  • Final Editing – We reserve the right to edit all submissions for grammar, style, length, and clarity. We may additionally amend the headline, subheadings and any pull quotes at our discretion.
