At the recent Powered On Live event, we gathered a panel of experts to discuss whether the UK needed nuclear power to achieve its net zero goal.
Joining the panel were Professor Gregg Butler, Head of Strategic Assessment at the Dalton Institute at the University of Manchester; Jonty Haynes, Senior Analyst, Regen; and Kirsty Gogan, Co-founder and Managing Director, TerraPraxis.
During the nearly hour long panel session, each panellist discussed the benefits of nuclear power and the crucial role it could play in helping the UK achieve its net zero goal. The panellists also recognised some of the challenges that face nuclear power’s proliferation in the UK, while passionately defending the technology.
