Test, measurement and control specialist Omega Engineering Services has clinched major contracts with two giants of the UK Aerospace industry: global thermal management systems manufacturer Ametek and defence electronics specialist SELEX Galileo.

Following competitive tender processes, Omega Engineering Services is now providing bespoke test equipment design and manufacture for both companies, effective immediately.

For SELEX Galileo, Omega is providing mechanical design services as well as control systems engineering. The contract with Ametek sees Omega offering electronic engineering services and software design assistance.

Andrew Hopcraft, MD of Omega Engineering Services, said: "We are incredibly pleased to have secured these contracts, both of which are significant wins for the company and demonstrate our offering in this competitive market."

"To be working with two of the biggest names in the industry is testament to the ambitious goals we have set ourselves at Omega – goals that we are well on the way to achieving."

The contract wins come as the company announces its commitment to SC21 – the 21st Century Supply Chains programme to encourage the development and continual improvement of the aerospace and defence industry.

According to Hopcraft, Omega's recent successes – including recent contract wins with Goodrich and Airbus – demonstrate the extent to which the company "already embodies the values of SC21" in its day-to-day operations and achievements.

"SC21 is designed to engender a culture in which the supply chain actively strives to deliver benefits across the aerospace industry," explained Hopcraft, "and the big names in the industry are looking for these values in each of their commercial partners.

"I believe Omega embodies these value-adding principles outlined by SC21," he concluded. "That we have been able to win significant contracts with a number of industry leaders is evidence that others in the industry feel the same way."
