For the second year running, Sheffield-based Powerminster has won the CIBSE Patrons Teamwork Award.

Part of the MJ Gleeson Group, Powerminster received the national award alongside its client, Grove Village, the UK’s first PFI Pathfinder social housing scheme. Established by CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) to reward excellence in joint working and co-operation between building services specialists and their clients, the award recognised the benefits brought to the project by Powerminster’s close relationship with both the development’s partners and residents.

Martyn Horton, managing director of Powerminster said: “Grove Village is a landmark project within the UK and Powerminster has made a 30-year commitment to helping establish a community in this deprived area of Manchester by maintaining an environment where people really want to live. We are delighted to be part of such a groundbreaking scheme and to be able to work so closely with the other partners that are helping to deliver it. To have won this award for the second consecutive year is simply the icing on the cake.” In mid April, Powerminster was part of the Chrysalis Consortium that signed contracts for the Ashford Social Housing PFI in Kent. Powerminster will be providing facilities management services for the life of this 30-year contract as well as carrying out internal refurbishment works.
