Cable ladder and tray, trunking, channel support and bespoke trunking assemblies from Legrand will be permanent fixtures on the team sheet at Brighton & Hove Albion’s new 22,500 capacity American Express Community Stadium, which opened earlier this month.

The products were specified by NG Bailey in two separate orders, one covering the channel, tray, trunking and ladder, the other the distribution board trunking assemblies for Bailey off-site.

The initial order for the trunking assemblies was secured due to the fact the product offered significant reductions in installation time. Fitted around distribution boards prior to them being installed on site, the innovative solution allows the board to be pre-wired internally – a pre-fabricated assembly process that takes just one day as opposed to the three or four it would take wiring the products on site.

The Amex Stadium was built with efficiency and economy of operation being key to its long term viability and has become one of the first stadia in the UK to receive a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating. This was achieved through various means, including minimising construction traffic disruption by relocating spoil locally for the remediation and improvement of the adjacent arable fields, minimising CO2 emissions by reducing the quantity of construction materials, and optimising insulation standards, while minimising energy consumption and waste.

Nigel Leaver, lead marketing manager for Legrand’s cable management division, said: “Legrand is committed to the preservation of the environment across all aspects of its business and one of the key elements of this commitment is the development of products that reduce installation time, and as such lessen the environmental impact during the electrical fit out of the projects we are involved with.”
