Increase in demand for lamp collection

Recolight, a UK WEEE compliance scheme for lamps, has seen a significant rise in the number of individual ‘on demand' site collections it is making; now up to 30 collections per month and increasing.

The company offers flexibility so one-off collections at temporary sites can be organised anywhere in the UK, where businesses accumulate efficient quantities – around 1000 WEEE lamps.

Eddie Taylor, chief executive of Recolight, said; "Businesses are increasingly aware of the requirements of the WEEE Regulations to recycle waste lamps and as a result we have seen a growing number of organisations turn to Recolight to help them comply. We provide a range of options to encourage recycling and our methods mean users can choose a service which best suits their requirements.  For example, a one-off collection can be programmed in conjunction with scheduled large scale refurbishments or nationwide re-lamping projects. We are pleased to have established a 1000 plus strong national network of registered collection points (CCPs), called RecoNet, across the UK. Through our collection network, we provide businesses that sell, handle, move, process or replace end-of-life gas discharge lamps with a stress-free solution to recycling."
