NAPIT to continue to drive safety with new government

NAPIT has pledged to continue its work with the new government, to drive forward electrical safety improvements and raise standards in the industry.

Liaising closely with MPs and government officials, under Boris Johnson’s leadership, NAPIT will continue to highlight the importance of ensuring that electrical operatives are correctly qualified and assessed for the work they undertake.

Group chief executive at NAPIT, Mike Andrews, said,“We will continue to promote the fact that on-site assessments and extensive industry experience, backed-up with defined qualifications, is the way to ensure individual competence.

As a leading UKAS Accredited Certification Body and active campaigner for electrical safety improvements, we look forward to continuing to share our expert industry knowledge with the new government, influencing key policy changes and highlighting issues important to our members.”

NAPIT is committed to supporting the essential development of renewable technologies, energy efficiency improvements and the roll-out of electric vehicle charging points, to help the government achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. NAPIT’s recommendations will continue to focus on the use of competent people for installation and maintenance.
