Newquay AFC has installed 27 solar panels and 37.5kW of battery storage at its Mount Wise Stadium, with the aim of running more of the site on renewable power and exporting surplus electricity to the National Grid.
The project was funded through Cornwall Council’s Community Levelling Up Programme, part-funded by the UK Government via the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The programme forms part of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme, which supports projects with lasting community benefit.

The club says the system has already helped reduce energy bills, with savings being reinvested into football development, community engagement and ongoing facility improvements. The solar panels and battery storage were all installed by local company Harvest Cornwall.
