National Grid’s Jon Davies to discuss grid evolution at Powered On: Sustainability event

How is the grid evolving to meet the challenge of decarbonisation? That’s a question that is set to be answered at the upcoming Powered On: Engineering a Sustainable Future event on April 23.

Jon Davies, Director of Network Operations & Intelligence, Electricity Transmission at National Grid, is set to deliver a keynote at 9:35am BST detailing the changes that are coming to the grid to usher in a new era of sustainability.

National Grid has already unveiled some ambitious plans for upgrades over the past few months. First we had National Grid ESO with an ambitious plan to spend £58 billion overhauling grid infrastructure in the UK, and then we had John Pettigrew, Group CEO of National Grid, noting that the grid would need to undergo its biggest change in a generation

The challenges facing the grid are numerous from the increasing demand for electricity from the likes of data centres and electric vehicles, to the unpredictability of renewable energy generation. That’s why Davies’ session at Powered On: Engineering a Sustainable Future is one not to be missed, as you’ll gain key insights into how National Grid is tackling these challenges head on.

Of course, there’s a lot more to see at Powered On: Engineering a Sustainable Future, and Electrical Review will be here to give you the inside track on the event as we get closer.

You can find out all the details and how to register for Powered On: Engineering a Sustainable Future over on the event’s official website here.
