Electrical Safety First, supported by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, will be holding a seminar on reducing risk for safer products.

The event will take place from 12.30pm on Monday 23 September, at Mary Ward House, 5-7 Tavistock Place, London, WC1H 9SN.

Entitled Mitigating risk through conformity assessment – ensuring product safety throughout the supply chain, the event is supported by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS). A key focus of the seminar will be the forthcoming PAS 7050, which is being developed to provide guidance for business and regulators in bringing safe products to market. In addition to an expert panel offering their views on best practice for mitigating risk through conformity assessment, there will be a practical workshop for delegates to put the theory into practice. Key speakers include Gordon Maddan, assistant director at the OPSS and Judith Peacock, group technical and health and safety director at Dixons Carphone.

“This event will help delegates – from large corporates to SMEs – understand the processes required to help demonstrate that products are safe and legally compliant, including what can be expected from the anticipated PAS 7050”, explains Martyn Allen, technical director at Electrical Safety First. “So whatever your business size or extent of your supply chain – from initial product concept through to manufacture or direct import – this essential seminar can help ensure you bring your goods safely to market.”
