The Michelin Group has signed a four-year agreement that makes Rockwell Automation its preferred partner for supplying industrial automation and controls to all of its world-leading tyre manufacturer’s factories worldwide.

The agreement includes the supply of Rockwell Automation products and services to Michelin Group factories around the world; the undertaking of projects by Rockwell Automation on behalf of Michelin, such as complete turnkey projects; the manufacturing of electrical enclosures; and the extension of Rockwell Automation training services, support and repair to Michelin installations around the world.

“We are pleased to consolidate our relationship with Rockwell Automation,” said the chief procurement officer for the Michelin Group.  “The agreement changes their status from a Michelin supplier to a preferred partner.  It’s the result of a long, successful relationship and renewed commitment made by Rockwell Automation to provide Michelin with innovative products and high-valued solutions.”

“Our partnership with Michelin goes far beyond a supplier-customer relationship,” said Hedwig Maes, president of the European and Middle East region for Rockwell Automation. “Rockwell Automation will now fully support Michelin’s global growth strategy. Our two-tiered support model features a global account team close to Michelin headquarters, and a worldwide network of local Rockwell Automation resources that support day-to-day operations and maintenance of Michelin’s production plants, whether they’re located in Europe, the U.S., Latin America or the Asia-Pacific region.”
