MHA Lighting has been shortlisted in the Energy Innovation Awards 2011.

The Atherton-based lighting specialist was today announced as a finalist in the Existing Performance Improvement category. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner at The Hilton, Manchester, on 23 June 2011.

The awards, now in their second year, are organised by the Energy Innovation Centre, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations flying the flag for energy innovation and sustainability.

Entries were received from across the UK and as far afield as Eastern Europe, from a wide range of organisations including start-ups, research centres and multinational organisations.

MHA Lighting managing director Tom Harrison said: "Innovation is paramount to tackling national and global energy demand and is something MHA Lighting is passionate about.

"We are a forward-thinking firm and specialise in innovative lighting solutions. Because of this MHA Lighting developed a patented British LED lighting solution that can deliver up to an 85% reduction in lighting energy costs, has virtually zero maintenance and provides 10 times longer life. Over and above that, it delivers a higher quality, evenly distributed light with very high colour rendering index.

"These awards are about honouring and celebrating our and others tremendous work, taking place both in the UK and internationally, and we are delighted to have been announced as a finalist.

"Well done to our fellow finalists and we will hopefully be celebrating our success on 23 June."

MHA Lighting specialises in the design and manufacture of interior and exterior LED lighting solutions for the public sector, retail, office space, car parking and garage forecourts and more.
