Click Scolmore’s innovative IEC Lock is now being used as standard issue on a range of LCD Monitors, Keyboard Drawers and KVM products supplied by global design and manufacturing group, Austin Hughes Europe Ltd.

Austin Hughes Europe's core business is to provide innovative 19 inch rack mount technology centralized server management solutions.  The company believes it has the most flexible specification offering or product range that exists today in the 19" LCD, Keyboard Drawer and KVM switch market sector.

Comments Austin Hughes’ Managing Director, Martin Hennessey:  “We were very impressed with the IEC Lock when we saw it first and decided it was the best solution on the market to enhance our range of products that use UK or European Schuko power leads.”  The beauty of the IEC Lock is its simplicity.  It is positioned at the appliance end of the cable and once connected to the IEC C14 inlet the mechanism locks it to the unit ensuring that the lead cannot become accidentally disconnected.  This is particularly useful in critical applications such as data centres.  The socket can easily be disconnected by sliding back the small red release catch on the back of the connector.”

As well as data communications, the IEC-Lock provides ideal protection for a variety of other applications, from medical environments, Maritime, broadcasting, lighting and entertainment etc.
