Tyco Thermal Controls was recently awarded an Environmental Quality Award by the City of Menlo Park, California for its extensive building renovation project that reduced energy use by 1, 843 kilowatt hours per year.

The lighting upgrade project at the manufacturing site for European products included the replacement of fixtures and bulbs with new T-8 energy-efficient units; and the procurement of an energy management system that put in additional controls to lighting and HVAC systems for all of its operations in Menlo Park and Redwood City.

Jonathan Jones, European product marketing manager commented: "We are delighted to win this award – it endorses our policy of producing lower energy consuming systems as well as producing the products in a low energy consuming way to reduce cradle to grave CO2 emissions."
