Steel ties expanded to include new ID systems

Electrical Review Logo

Thomas & Betts have expanded their established range of Ty-Met stainless steel ties for harsh and aggressive environments by including new ID systems, bands on reels and all-round perforated bands.

The Ty-Met ball-lock type ties now have a heavy duty version. Still using 316 grade stainless steel (marine grade), the ties now come in four widths, including 12 mm and 16 mm, for extreme applications.

The new Ty-Met stainless steel identification system uses stainless steel sleeves with pre-embossed characters to provide clear identification, even when covered with dust, paint or dirt.

The range now includes stainless steel bands on 25 m reels, with separate heads, allowing cost saving, waste-free installations around objects of all shapes and sizes. Finally, Ty-Met introduces a new multi-purpose perforated band, which is easy to install, even around awkward objects like cable bundles, pipes and poles.

The existing range of Ty-Met stainless steel ties includes releasable and ladder type ties in addition to the ball-lock self-locking mechanism for quick and easy installation.
