Schneider Electric has raised over £30,000 for its chosen charity, the NSPCC, in a cheque presentation at its Telford site. In addition to the usual barbecues, theme days and competitions, Schneider Electric's money making ideas have also included company managers collecting 'tolls' from their staff using the car parking facilities, selling a calendar featuring employees’ faces on other people's bodies and staff recording a music CD for sale.
The main focus of Schneider Electric's fundraising drive was an annual, company-wide 'Luli Week' with the money raised by staff being matched by the Luli Foundation, which is part of Sustainable Development within Schneider Electric and operates from France.
Anna Standing, the NSPCC's corporate partnerships account executive, said: “We're so grateful for everything that Schneider Electric has done for the NSPCC. None of our work would be possible without the generosity of our supporters.
“The £30,500 that Schneider Electric staff has raised is a fantastic achievement and will go a long way to help vulnerable children in the UK and end cruelty to children,” she said.
