MT Supertube FR Plus achieves LUL standard

Electrical Review Logo

MT Supertube FR Plus is a development of the MT Supertube three-layer, heavy gauge, impact resistant, LSOH conduit from Marshall-Tufflex. It has been specially formulated for high performance within the most arduous of fire safety requirements and for installation within hazardous and aggressive environments such as tunnels, ships, submarines and oil rigs.

In order to meet the standards for this type of application, MT Supertube FR Plus was required to undergo a series of tests set up by Transfire Services, a fully independent materials test house. The tests were conducted against the stringent requirements set out by London Underground Limited.

The fire tests concluded that MT Supertube FR Plus meets the criteria for Category ‘-EQ/l’ of the London Underground Limited Engineering Standard 2-01001-002: Issue A1: December 2003.

Incorporating an aluminium layer sandwiched between two layers of polyethylene, MT Supertube FR Plus assists in conforming to the EMC Directive. It provides an exceptionally smooth bore, allowing for very easy drawing of cables, and it can be supplied in standard 3 metre lengths or in coil lengths up to 100 metres for fast installation.
