'Endeavour House' is part of a new development in Russell Road, Ipswich, which includes new office space for Suffolk County Council. The scheme included re-paving work to the surrounding area, and of course, new lighting.
20 large trees are situated along the street, this meant careful planning had to go into placing each column, in order to maintain the uniformity of light produced for the area. 8 Thylia luminaires with 150W CDM-T lamps were installed, designed in line with BS 5489 Categories 3/1 and 3/2. The white light source has also helped by improving visibility for pedestrian and road users.
The new ‘Endeavour House’ lighting scheme was completed in April 2004, and has been well received by the people using the new development. Members of the council have even nicknamed the scheme ‘pineapple trees’, due to the Thylia’s stylish but individualistic look.
