Former Polestar UK CEO appointed to The EV Network board

Jonathan Goodman, previously CEO of Polestar UK, has been appointed as Non-Executive Director at The EV Network, as the company expands its EV charging infrastructure projects across the UK.

Goodman brings nearly four decades of experience in the automotive sector, including senior roles at Volvo, Stellantis, and as Director General of Peugeot UK. However, his most recent role as CEO of Polestar UK should give the board of The EV Network a further boost in knowledge when it comes to addressing the needs of EV drivers.

The EV Network, which recently developed one of Europe’s largest charging hubs at NEC Birmingham, is strengthening its team to support ongoing and future projects. The company’s approach, described as ‘infrastructure as a service’, involves purchasing and leasing land to build rapid and ultra-fast EV charging stations, helping charge point operators and landlords manage capital while providing necessary infrastructure to consumers.

Goodman’s role will involve guiding the expansion of The EV Network’s operations to meet the increasing demand for EVs and to ensure the UK’s charging infrastructure can handle future requirements. His appointment has been described as ‘crucial’ to the company’s strategy to future-proof the nation’s EV infrastructure.

Reza Shaybani, CEO and Co-Founder of The EV Network, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan to our Board of Directors. Jonathan’s profound knowledge of the automotive industry, coupled with his leadership in promoting electric vehicles, aligns perfectly with our vision at The EV Network. His strategic insights and industry experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand our EV infrastructure and accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.”

Jonathan Goodman added, “I am honoured to join The EV Network at such a pivotal time in the EV industry. The company’s commitment to developing innovative and accessible EV infrastructure is crucial for the future of sustainable transportation. I look forward to working with the Board and the management team to support the company’s growth and drive the adoption of electric vehicles.”
