Vertiv has unveiled two new solutions, the Trinergy UPS and PowerNexus, to address the increasing power demands from AI and HPC applications globally.
The design of the Trinergy extends modularity to all levels of the UPS architecture, which Vertiv says allows for significant space savings and reduced maintenance costs. This is enhanced when integrated with the Vertiv PowerBoard Switchgear as part of the Vertiv PowerNexus solution, further reducing installation times and costs.
The UPS, which is available in 1500, 2000, and 2500 kVA capacities, also claims to exceed Tier IV data centre uptime standards, with a projected uptime of 99.9999998%. Vertiv says that this minimal downtime will be critical for maintaining continuous operations in data-intensive sectors reliant on AI and HPC technologies.
Vertiv has also taken the opportunity to boast about the supposed energy efficiency of the Trinergy UPS, with it claiming to deliver up to 97.1% double conversion efficiency and 99% with Dynamic Online mode. This efficiency could reduce operating costs and minimise cooling system energy consumption, contributing to a lower total cost of ownership and faster payback periods.
Furthermore, the UPS supports dynamic grid services and can operate indefinitely on DC power even at full load.
