Steatite announces rebranding of its battery business unit to Custom Power

Custom Power Rebrand

Steatite, a UK-based manufacturer specialising in battery packs for critical applications, has unveiled a rebranding of its batteries business unit to Custom Power.

The rebranding is designed to unify the UK entity with its American counterpart, which operates under the same name, to establish a cohesive global identity.

Located in Crewkerne, Somerset, Steatite provides bespoke battery packs and technology designed for challenging and extreme conditions.

The rebranding also encompasses eTech Developments, acquired by Steatite’s parent company, Solid State Plc, in 2022. eTech Developments is known for its expertise in electrified powertrain components and systems.

Additionally, the acquisition of the Californian company Custom Power by Solid State in 2022 further extends the group’s capabilities in creating advanced battery solutions for medical, aerospace, defence, and industrial applications.

Steatite’s other divisions, including computing, communications, and antennas, will continue to operate under the existing Steatite brand, alongside the imaging business unit, Active Silicon.

The rebranded Custom Power in the UK will maintain its commitment to providing custom battery solutions across various sectors, including industrial, medical, and UAV technologies, reinforcing its position in battery innovation.

Matthew Richards, Managing Director of Custom Power, stated, “Our decision to rebrand as Custom Power is a reflection of our dedication to providing a seamless experience for our customers worldwide. By aligning our branding with Custom Power in the US, we are streamlining our operations and expanding our global presence.”
