Vertiv has appointed Birgit Jackson as Director of the Integrated Racks and IT Solutions Business in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Jackson will report to EMEA President and Global Channel Leader, Giordano Albertazzi, and is tasked with developing strategies and directing a team to help Vertiv’s continued growth and leadership in the IT channel market. She replaces Alex Pope, who has recently been promoted to Global Vice President for Edge Systems.

With over 20 year’s experience in global product management, Jackson has defined product lines, positioning and price structure; led on product strategies for European sales regions; and directed marketing and communications initiatives.

“It’s an amazing time to join Vertiv”, said Albertazzi.

We saw a strong increase in our channel partner base across EMEA and just in 2021 we have rolled out over 20 new products that are brought to market through our channel partner network. Continuing to attract the very best into our business is vital to fuel our growth further. With her strong track record of strategic and decisive business leadership, as well as her extensive product management experience, it’s clear Birgit belongs in this category.”

“We are living through a time of accelerated digital transformation”, said Jackson. “Critical infrastructure now has utility status and I’m really excited to join a company at the forefront of creating and implementing the IT solutions that are going to power the digital world. I look forward to helping customers integrate and utilise Vertiv’s expansive product range and focusing on key strategic priorities like building the company’s already impressive edge computing portfolio.”

Vertiv has been increasingly investing in the IT channel route-to-market over the past few years, starting with the launch of its enhanced Vertiv Partner Programme (VPP) in 2019, and progressively developing a series of new edge products including the plug-and-play micro data centre Vertiv VRC-S, and highly-efficient single-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems such as the Vertiv Edge Lithium-Ion.

In March 2021, Vertiv announced additional investments in people, tools, programs and a new global Partner Relationship Management (PRM) system to streamline interactions and increase profitability for partners. Vertiv has also been conducting thorough research to define standard models for deploying edge computing infrastructure, helping businesses to cut costs and deployment times.
