The NICEIC and ELECSA have announced a new webinar focusing on the proposed changes announced for Amendment 2 of the 18th Edition, with the webinar taking place later tonight.

Amendment 2 of the 18th Edition was only proposed on Monday by the Institution of Engineering and Technology and the British Standards Institution. Electrical Review has an overview of some of the changes that could be coming to the 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations, although those looking for a more in-depth discussion may want to check out the free webinar from the NICEIC and ELECSA.

The webinar will take place on September 23 at 8pm, and is exclusive to NICEIC and ELECSA contractors who can sign up by visiting the events page on the NICEIC website.

The live broadcast will cover the main points of the DPC looking at the detail and assessing the potential impact for contractors should the changes come to fruition.

“The release of the DPC marks an important milestone as we edge towards the introduction of Amendment 2 of BS 7671: 2018,” said Jon Elliott, NICEIC and ELECSA Senior Technical Author.

“This is the first step and our chance to shape the standards to which we will be bound to. It is vital that all contractors are up to speed on the detail and that they understand how to engage with the process.

“In this session, technical presenter Jake Green and I will guide registrants through the proposal and outline the process for submitting views.

“I urge all NICEIC and ELECSA contractors to make the most of this opportunity; this DPC includes some significant updates which, if implemented, will impact us all, make sure you know the facts.”

A recording of the broadcast will also be made available 24 hours after the live session. NICEIC and ELECSA customers can access this via their customer portals.
