Stiebel Eltron launches new range of storage heaters

Heating product manufacturer Stiebel Eltron has launched its SHF and SHS range of high-heat retention storage heaters to the UK market.

The new range offers a high heating output and requires minimum space for installation. It also features an integral temperature controller, which means residents can customise when the unit is activated using a weekly timer. This capability is supplemented by smart technology that detects when a window has been opened and deactivates the unit accordingly to save energy.

The product’s heat retention capacity means it can bridge long breaks between charging to make use of the Economy 7 tariff. This initiative is offered by energy suppliers and means consumers pay less per kWh of energy during the night than they do in the day. This mirrors the peaks and troughs of energy demand, offering the potential for significant savings.

Social housing residents also benefit from the opportunity to have the system retrofit in their home free of charge through the Government’s Affordable Warmth Obligation.

From a specification perspective, the range is listed on the SAP Appendix Q Product Characteristics Database, which offers insights into product capabilities – assisting buyers and installers looking to specify for a new build or retrofit project.

Mark McManus, managing director of Stiebel Eltron UK, said, “We are seeing a rise in demand for sustainable electric heating options, particularly as new initiatives such as the Future Homes Standard 2025 gain traction and customers demand a move away from fossil fuels.

“This new range offers an alternative option to panel heaters, and the opportunity for those in social housing schemes to have the system retrofit into their property for free.

“We are particularly pleased with this development, alongside creating a product that fulfils the criteria to make use of the Government’s Economy 7 tariff – which can provide customers with significant savings.

“The SHF range has been designed to be efficient, easy to install, and practical once it’s in place. We’re confident that it’ll play an integral role in the comfort of many homes, as well as offering our customers invaluable energy savings.”
