Rexel is supporting housing and care provider Sanctuary Group to deliver projects making a positive difference to residents’ lives.

Sanctuary works closely with suppliers and development partners to identify opportunities to invest in local communities and improve the lives of its residents. Rexel has provided funding towards the appointment of two ‘Work Ready’ coaches, who will help Sanctuary residents move towards full-time employment, training or education.

Based in West Bromwich and Rotherham, the coaches will provide holistic, ongoing support tailored to residents’ individual circumstances.

It is hoped the coaching will directly benefit at least 20 residents over the next year, while Rexel will also be offering apprenticeship opportunities within its business to Sanctuary residents as part of its support.

Rexel is also supporting the Get on Track initiative, a joint venture between Sanctuary and the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust that sees retired elite athletes working with young adults living in supported accommodation to improve their confidence, motivation and self-esteem.

Rexel will be attending an employment day taking place in Brighton as part of the initiative, as well as donating £2,000 to produce a video showcasing the support on offer.

David Knowles, senior account manager for Rexel, said: “We work closely with Sanctuary and are delighted to be supporting these fantastic projects, which will help residents reach their potential and make a real difference to people’s lives.”

Jane Windle-Hartshorn, Sanctuary’s head of community investment, added: “We are always keen to work with suppliers to identify ways to invest in our communities.

“We’re grateful for the support Rexel is providing with these projects, which are delivering real benefits to the residents that we serve.”
