Former MHI Vestas CEO joins Global Wind Service board

Jens Tommerup, is the former CEO of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Vestas Wind Systems (Vestas). He has been heading MHI Vestas since 2013 but stepped down April 1st this year in accordance with the joint venture agreement’s principle of changing its leadership every fourth year. Tommerup was brought in from a position as president for Vestas Asia Pacific in China. Prior to this, he was working for the Hempel Group for more than 20 years where he ended his Hempel days as CEO of Hempel-Hai Hong Ltd in China.
