Sontay has announced its managing director, Sandy Damm, has been appointed to the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA) Management Committee
Following a vote by members of the BCIA, Sandy Damm along with two other candidates has been elected to sit on the Management Committee.
Damm commented, “I am thrilled to join the Management Committee and I would like to thank all the members who voted and for the trust they have shown in me. It is an honour to join an association dedicated to the future of the building controls industry and I am looking forward to working with the other members of the committee to strengthen and develop the BCIA brand, making it synonymous with professionalism and excellence. Focussing on education is one of my main priorities and I want to invest in our CPD programme as well build an inspiring apprenticeship programme for those wishing to take their first steps into building controls. It is important the BCIA is a driving force, pushing the industry forward and attracting new talent. The industry is evolving and it is exciting time for everyone, I want to ensure the BCIA delivers what our members need.”
Damm joined Sontay in 2014 and has built on the company’s reputation for a broad range of innovative, feature-rich products and outstanding levels of service. He has also launched the Sontay Academy, a new education initiative which provides access to a wide range of courses designed to build knowledge, technical skills and contribute to CPD requirements.
Before Sontay, Damm worked for 15 years in international business development with ABB and Hager.
