Make sure you put the dates in your diary as the UK’s only national show for covering the electrical contractor market takes place at Birmingham’s NEC – offering huge benefits for those who attend.

A new national event designed to provide a business nexus for contractors and industry stakeholders comes to the world-famous NEC in Birmingham this September. Electrical Design and Install Expo (ED&I) has been created by experienced and successful trade show organiser, All Things Media (ATM), which delivers successful trade events into the entertainment, automation and audio-visual categories. The show is free to attend and headline sponsor for the event is Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA).

Steve Bratt, CEO of the ECA, says: “The ECA is very pleased to be working with ATM on the ED&I Expo, which presents a unique opportunity for designers, installers, suppliers and manufacturers from across the industry, as well as showcasing what the industry has to offer to important clients and specifiers.”

At the show, contractors as well as specifiers and buyers will be able to interact with a large number of relevant companies who will be offering a chance to learn more about their latest products and services for the commercial and domestic installation markets. The show will offer many launches, special offers and unique demonstrations from manufacturers, distributors and service providers. ED&I has gained support from some of the biggest names in the business with the Scolmore Group acting as Platinum Sponsors and Schneider Electric and Hotcost acting as Gold Sponsors. Exhibitors will cover a huge spectrum of products, applications and services, so every visitor will find something of importance to their business.

ED&I will also present an opportunity for learning and education, with a complete programme of seminars that will equip visitors with the knowledge to move their company forward in terms of technology and legislation compliance. The ECA has taken the lead on providing a programme of seminars drawing on its considerable expertise and experience to tackle head on the major issues facing the electrical industry. Subjects covered will include compliance, as well as looking at new business opportunities and challenges too. Panel discussions will also take place, covering subjects such as the 18th Edition of Wiring Regulations.

The ECA will not be the only association in attendance: a specially created area will offer visitors the chance to interact with a wide cross section of organisations whose aim is to represent the needs of and support the progression of the UK electrical contracting market. Select, The LIA, The Electrical Distributors Association, BEAMA, JLT and the JIB are all supporting this new national event.

The show could not have a better venue, situated as it is in the world-famous NEC right in the heart of the UK. The location has been chosen for its excellent transport links, services and accommodation options. For those who want to make the best of the show and visit for two days or want to make the trip easier by staying over before or after their visit, special deals on hotels are available via the show’s dedicated website (www.edandiexpo.com); just click on the accommodation tab.
