British fan manufacturer, Vent-Axia, has continued its 80th anniversary festivities with a staff celebration at its head office, located at Manor Royal in Crawley. At the event staff enjoyed lunch and cake to celebrate Vent-Axia’s landmark 80 years and a formal photograph of the staff was taken to mark the occasion. Staff members were each given 80th Anniversary mementoes and a framed copy of the photograph from the day. Similar celebrations also took place in Vent-Axia’s Dudley manufacturing facility.

“Being a successful, innovative manufacturer for 80 years is a great achievement and one that we are very proud of. As part of the celebrations, we wanted to hold events that all our valued staff could be part of and enjoy” said Mark Hoskins, managing director at Vent-Axia. “Without our experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated staff we wouldn’t be the company we are today and we are very grateful to them. Thank you to every one of them.”

The company has been at the forefront of ventilation design and manufacture since the 1936 when company founder, Joe Akester, invented the world’s first electrically operated window fan. Sir Winston Churchill was one of the company’s first customers with Vent-Axia supplying ventilation for No 10 Downing Street during World War II. Starting off in Putney, London, Vent-Axia relocated to Manor Royal industrial estate in Crawley, West Sussex in 1961 and as the company grew it relocated to larger premises on Manor Royal, which is where it is situated today. In 2013 Vent-Axia further invested in Crawley with the launch of three new production assembly lines.

Vent-Axia now employs 253 staff at its headquarters in Fleming Way, Crawley, West Sussex. A multi-million pound company, Vent-Axia’s innovations are present in a wide range of landmark projects from buildings in Her Majesty’s Royal Estates to the White House. As a result, the Vent-Axia brand has become a household name featuring annually in the UK Superbrands league table and holding the prestigious Royal Warrant.
