Unknown in the UK two years ago and in a market worth over an estimated £3bn annually, YESSS Electrical is said to have become become the UK’s fourth largest electrical wholesaler, just 12 months after opening its first branch. YESSS now has annual sales of over £100m, almost 100 branches and more than 750 employees.

The YESSS story began in 2012 when Adam and Ashley Mackie decided to set up a new dynamic and forward thinking company. Drawing on a combined four decades of experience at the top, they now claim to have transformed the electrical wholesale industry by focusing on what YESSS stands for – Your Electrical Supplies, Service and Solutions.

YESSS’ mission statement shows that the company is determined to offer the market something completely new: ‘Our purpose is to create superior value for our customers by delivering world class Supplies, Service and Solutions’.

A year on from its UK launch YESSS has served more than 14,000 customers from large electrical contractors to sole-traders and home improvement consumers. With new branches opening from Brighton to Belfast, Enfield to Edinburgh, and with big plans for the future, the YESSS success story continues to go from strength to strength.

“This first year of growth has been phenomenal for us, and has shown us that the electrical industry was more than ready for something new,” said Adam Mackie.

Ashley Mackie believes focusing on the customer will set YESSS apart from its rivals. “We fully understand our customers needs,” he explained. “Our devotion is to sell excellent quality products and brands in a customer focused environment. We gave our image a great deal of thought and have been dedicated and passionate to the YESSS creative process.

“The customer is our greatest inspiration. Our approach brings together the best elements of an electrical wholesaler with the inviting feel of a retail environment. For example, we stock thousands of products – from everyday supplies, to cutting-edge eco-green technologies. We have built, created and designed a clean branch environment with a good atmosphere and excellent customer service driven by the best teams with years of industry experience.

“By listening to both the electrical trade and general public, we’ve developed a unique approach to give the best Service, Supplies and Solutions.”

YESSS has ambitious plan for growth, added Andy Singleton, one of the founding directors. “We’re committed to opening more UK branches and creating hundreds of jobs that will benefit local communities right across the country,” he says. “With the economy recovering, the future’s looking bright, and we’re setting our sights on achieving some very ambitious targets.”

What makes YESSS stand out from its competitors is the customer service and industry knowledge offered by each member of its telesales and in-store teams. YESSS is committed to staff training on both products and personal skills and every employee is a member of The YESSS Academy, its state of the art purpose built training centre.

This rigorous training scheme, given to every team member and all new starters, makes sure customers can feel confident that the person serving them shares their passion for the industry and can help them find the right products and solutions for their requirements.

Solutions such as renewables, one of the fastest growing and most demanding product categories for the whole electrical industry, are made simple at YESSS, with every branch stocking the latest energy-saving technologies like the ImmerSUN water heating system for solar panels, the PodPoint electric vehicle charging unit and an exceptional selection of quality branded LED lighting. YESSS adds extra expertise in this particular market sector with fully trained lighting engineers to help bring projects to life.

Technical installation knowledge and expertise about the long term benefits and ‘pay-back’ periods are also available from the branch teams as part of the company’s long-term commitment to the green sector.
