Council reduces its carbon footprint

Electrical Review Logo

With sustainability at the heart of the design of Rochdale Borough Council’s new development at Number One Riverside, a Delmatic lighting control system is playing a key role in minimising energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The lighting is linked to a Delmatic Dali bus-wire lighting control system linked to a central PC. Full emergency testing and monitoring is also provided throughout.

The lighting in all internal and external areas is addressable and the lighting is controlled in relation to daylight, presence and absence. This high level of addressability within the system has enabled the designers to establish control parameters that best suit the design and usage of each space. The dimming function is also being used to provide various design illuminance levels in different areas, depending on the activities within each. This creates a highly flexible system that can be easily adjusted should the functions within a space change.
