Two awards were bestowed upon Schneider Electric Professional Services at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA) held at London’s Film Museum this week.

The gala event recognises the best practice, people and organisations within the energy consultancy industry and Schneider Electric won I&C Consultancy of the Year and the Best Advice Awards. It was also shortlisted for the I&C Most Trusted Consultancy categories.

The I&C Consultancy of the Year award was voted for by business energy users only. Each organisation had one vote to cast. The consultancies had to demonstrate exceptional customer service when dealing with the voters and their organisation; that they were integral within the voter’s day to day business activity; provided valued advice on the correct contract structure and risk strategy; was innovative with new ideas for the organisation, thus helping achieve business objectives; and went the extra mile to provide solutions to the voter’s business needs.

The ten energy consultancies with the highest number of votes were then shortlisted and put before a judging panel who then asked the consultancies to provide additional information based on the criteria. An overall winner was then chosen taking into account the vote and submissions together.

The Best Advice award was open to all energy consultancies and recognised the consultancy that best demonstrated how it ensures its customers get the right advice for their energy needs. Schneider Electric had to highlight how its competencies, processes and communication channels ensure that customers get the right advice at all times.
Steve Wilhite, SVP, supply and sustainability at Schneider Electric, said: “We have to thank all those who voted for us. There is no higher accolade than to be called the Consultancy of the Year. Coming from a vote from customers and clients makes it all the more special.

“We work hard at building relationships with clients and continually put hard work into ensuring clients are not only kept informed and aware of the myriad of opportunities facing them in the energy field, but are advised on the best choices to meet their specific needs.

“We don’t look to provide quick off-the-shelf solutions. We partner with clients to understand their business requirements and develop a bespoke package of choices and solutions for them.

“We have to gain clients’ trust when they want to start making their energy work for them more effectively and efficiently, before we can really give them the best advice. So it is pleasing to see our processes being recognised and endorsed in this way by the clients we have worked with.”

Sumit Bose from the TELCA organiser, Energy Live News, said: “We launched these awards to set the benchmark for the consultancy sector. The entry criteria were tough and independently judged with integrity at the heart of all decision making.

“The standard of entries was very high and the judges had to make some tough decisions. The range of companies represented shows that irrespective of size, quality of service was most important.”
