Structured wiring system for refurbishment

Electrical Review Logo

Refurbishment of 1A Wimpole Street in Westminster has included the use of Wieland Electric’s Metalynx structured wiring system to connect small power and lighting and to distribute the control cabling for the lighting management system.

The Wieland Metalynx system was selected by electrical contractors Raytell Electrical because the company had confidence that Wieland products would meet all of the requirements of the project. In particular, it was clear that the pluggable functionality of the system would save considerable time on site, compared to making manual terminations.

Use of the Metalynx system enables leads to be connected to luminaires at the factory, so that onsite installation is simply a matter of plugging the connectors together. Typical times savings, compared to traditional installation methods, can be as high as 70%.
