As developments in home automation continue so the impact is being felt on wiring accessories wtih an increase in demand for wireless systems to control the lighting, heating, shutters and more in our homes and business premises.

For those contractors keen to develop the home automation side of their business, NICEIC, in conjunction with Scolmore Group, is currently offering one day training courses that will expand their knowledge of wireless control systems.

The course covers work involving a range of transmitters and receivers. By the end of the day candidates will have gained practical experience of programming and be able to control lights and blinds via a transmitter. They will also be able to identify situations where the iNELS RF control system might be suitable.

Mike Jackson, sales manager at NICEIC said: “Home automation is quickly becoming a growing market for electrical contractors and those with the specialist skills to fit and install will be able to take advantage. This course will give contractors the necessary skills and knowledge to recommend solutions to clients in a confident and professional manner.”

In addition the course programme covers: component recognition and design, wiring regulations, lighting and blind controls, RF pilot installation and control, touch installation control, and heating controls explained.

Courses costs just £99 plus VAT and they take place at Scolmore Group’s head office in Tamworth and various locations throughout the UK.  Upon completion of the course candidates will have £50 worth of iNELS’ products to take home.  Contact [email protected] for more information.
