Electrical Review Logo

Caterpillar engine-powered firewater pump package from Finning Power Systems (Finning) provides reliable firewater power for ClydeUnion Pumps, an SPX brand.

Early production facilities are currently being developed at Iraq’s untapped Garraf oil field, located in southern Iraq, where ClydeUnion Pumps, global specialists in the design and manufacture of pumps for onshore and offshore oil and gas applications, has won the contract to provide the firewater pumps – an essential component in the safe operation of the facility.

ClydeUnion Pumps has selected a custom engineered package from Finning to provide emergency power for the firewater pumping equipment.

Finning has supplied two fire pump packages each comprising a Cat 3412 direct-injection, turbocharged, after-cooled diesel engine rated in accordance with NFPA20, the National Fire Protection Association standard.  Each engine is capable of providing 800bhp at 1750rpm.
