Wila has supplied luminaires for the refurbishment of a floor in the prestigious 5 New Street Square building in the City of London as part of a Category A fit out. Working closely in conjunction with lighting designers GIA Equation, WILA was able to offer the best solution with its Avic fittings.

New Street Square is a RIBA award winning office and retail development by Land Securities with an ‘Excellent’ Breeam rating. Five buildings cluster around the main square, which is softened by trees, water features and an innovative ‘green wall’, planted with shrubs, ferns and grasses. Over 673,820 square feet of office space is divided into flexible spaces.

Lighting for this area was originally installed in 2008 using 1x21W DALI 900mm louvered air handling luminaires in continuous lines which provided an average illuminance of 400 Lux.  Electrical consultant GIA Equation was employed to ‘upgrade’ the lighting and replace the ceiling to provide a more modern feel.  A number of luminaires were mocked up at GIA Equation’s officesfor consideration and the Wila solution was chosen as the preferred option fast track project.
