Multi control system for power sector combustion research project

Electrical Review Logo

International Innovative Technologies (IIT) is building on its strong links with university research departments with the design, development and installation of a multi-panel electronic control system for the University of Leeds.

IIT has developed a master control system for the monitoring and gathering of data produced by various combustion rigs being used in a new combustion technology development programme that is being undertaken jointly by the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield.

The multi million pound project is supported by the UK government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change and is being carried out at the Pilot–scale Advanced Capture Technology facility near Sheffield.

The sophisticated process control system comprises six separate panels that connect together to form a full site-wide system operating across the Beighton facility.
