Standby power specialist, Dieselec Thistle Generators has entered the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league table of the UK’s fastest growing privately owned companies for the first time thanks to a 68.61% growth rate.

The diesel generator supplier and installer is ranked number 56 in this year’s league table, which assess the sales growth of privately owned companies across all sectors. The company’s sales have jumped from £4,166,000 in 2008-9 to £19,968,000 in 2011-2012, earning Dieselec Thistle its place on the prestigious league table.

Managing director of Dieselec Thistle, Paul Moore, said: “Since Dieselec acquired Thistle Generators just two years ago the combined expertise of the two companies, along with investment in new equipment and new premises has enabled us to grow rapidly while continuing to deliver the high standards of customer service and technical support that lie at the heart of our success. Our strength in the Scottish market has now been replicated across the UK thanks to our London depot and our geographic expansion has been mirrored by growth into new market sectors.”

Continuing reliance on computerised and automated systems across a wide range of sectors including hospitals, hotels, distribution, data centres and retail means that there is continuing high demand for specialist standby power installations to protect business-critical electrical services.  At the same time, concerns are growing about the threat of electrical outages as demands on the National Grid continue to increase, making the installation of standby diesel generators a key risk mitigation investment for many businesses and public sector organisations.

Paul Moore continued: “At a time when many sectors are struggling due to the economic climate, the standby power sector is continuing to grow because we offer a must-have rather than a nice-to-have service. Nevertheless, our sales growth is based not only on market demand but on unparalleled expertise, excellent service and competitive pricing which have enabled us to differentiate and increase our market share. We’re delighted to have made it into the Fast Track 100 at number 56 and are confident that Dieselec Thistle will continue to rise through the ranks both on the list and in our sector.”
