Chris Dale, director of Danfoss, has commented on DECC’s announcement about the Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI).
“It’s very welcome news that DECC has began its consultation on the RHI. The RHI is the single largest incentive to encourage much greater uptake of renewable such as heat pumps, as well as helping the Government to achieve its targets for Carbon emissions.
The industry has been moving more slowly than many would have liked and this has resulted in some householders and businesses putting off their decision to upgrade their heating systems until the RHI is finalised.
Once the consultations have been completed, we are hoping that it will result in more transparency for homeowners and businesses, giving them the confidence to invest it renewable technologies like heat pumps.
Even without the RHI there are excellent environmental and economic reasons to invest in heat pump technology. With a clear route set to be determined by the latest round of RHI consultations, heat pumps are set to become the technology of choice for even more customers.
which will have a significant impact both on the environment and on their energy bills.”
