The role of heat networks in delivering the 2050 carbon dioxide targets – Can you really trust your models?

Electrical Review Logo

A free workshop on 29 August 2013 will question whether we can rely on some of our current models to formulate energy policy. Heat networks retrofitted by the Danes have been decarbonising their domestic sector, using waste heat from electricity generation, biomass and solar thermal. Can new heat infrastructure be the opportunity for David Cameron’s Big Society and Green Deal, with consumers owning their part of the network?

Come and learn about the fundamentals of energy, laws of thermodynamics, carbon footprints, exergy and also how heat networks can integrate with electricity networks to increase our national and local security of energy supply.

The workshop will take place at The Institution of Mechanical Engineers at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London, SW1H 9JJ, from 9.30-17.00 (morning and afternoon sessions).
