The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (Cibse) has just announced the categories for its Building Performance Awards 2013. The Cibse Building Performance Awards are designed to involve clients and the full supply chain, as well as giving recognition to the role of building services engineers, and reward the best performance, innovation and practice.

For 2013 Cibse is encouraging entrants for the category Contractor of the Year which is open to all contractors who install heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical, lighting, low carbon and renewable energy technologies, building controls and energy management systems.

Contractors have a vital role to play in helping to achieve building owner and user satisfaction in the operation of a building. This means implementing important processes such as value engineering in work planning, and fulfilling projects which please and meet user expectations from handover and throughout the life of the building.

The Cibse Building Performance Awards will recognise the important contribution that contractors make in ‘making buildings work’. To enter, go to www.cibseawards.org.
