High efficiency plasma technology

Electrical Review Logo

The new Alvara high bay luminaire, part of the new Alvara product range from Ceravision, incorporating the company’s high efficiency plasma (HEP) technology, has the potential to reduce the energy consumption of high bay lighting installations by 75%.

Alvara is an innovative product that, compared to high intensity discharge (HID) lamps, is more efficient and delivers the lumen output (minimum 96 lm/system watt) to replace, on average, two traditional high bay fittings. The quality of the light is also improved (4,500K,CRI 80+), with faster start up and double the lamp life. Alvara fittings are also dimmable (30-100% linear dimming), using Ceravision’s intelligent operating system.

For example, a 72,000m2 warehouse will require only 336 Alvara luminaires mounted at 12m high to achieve an average illuminance of 300 lux, compared to 680 x 400W HID fittings. This will result in 57% energy savings with no control and up to 72% using dimming in response to natural daylight and occupancy.
