Renewables specialist Ploughcroft has been appointed as the national training partner for Rolec Services, a UK manufacturer of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, to deliver courses on EV charging technology installation on a national basis.

The agreement will see Ploughcroft delivering specific courses covering electric vehicle charging and will be aimed at electrical engineers.

The courses will cover installation of Rolec Services’ WallPod EV charging unit as well as other technologies offered by the company, delegates who successfully complete the training session will become approved Ploughcroft EV installers, as part of creating a nationwide installer network.

Ploughcroft recognise the opportunity to upskill industry professionals in the installation of electric vehicle charging technology, as part of helping them to secure a lucrative new income stream. With an anticipated one million charging points required by domestic and commercial users over the next 12 months, there are huge opportunities for electrical engineers to fit the WallPod unit, which provides affordable electric vehicle home charging.

Chris Hopkins, managing director of Ploughcroft, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Rolec Services to deliver high quality training services to electrical engineers on the electric vehicle WallPod product. This is a potentially huge market for electrical engineers and will provide a new source of income for our network of approved installers.”

He added: “Our aim is that our installers will deliver the very best installations, based on our reputation for delivering high quality training and with the backing of Rolec Services, the leading brand in electric vehicle charging technology. We are asking electrical engineers to get in touch as soon as possible to find out about becoming approved installers.”
