ECA approval for UPS systems

Electrical Review Logo

Business managers with responsibility for uninterruptible power supply systems (UPS) will immediately benefit from the ECA scheme if they choose a Socomec UPS unit, designed and manufactured especially for use in critical power applications to ensure business continuity.

Five additional Socomec UPS units – Socomec Delphys Green Power 320 and 400kVA, Delphys MX 400, 500 and 800 kVA – received approval under the strict ECA criteria and were added to the Energy Technology Product List (ETPL) on 1 September 2011. This means any new purchase of these ECA approved UPS units entitles users to apply to receive capital allowance benefits and to claim back costs against the purchase of the new equipment (in some cases project costs) from the Government under their energy-saving guidelines.

The latest approvals build on Socomec’s existing range of UPS products available on the ETPL, all qualifying for the same ECA scheme benefits.  Socomec products were amongst the first UPS units to gain ECA approval in 2010 and include: Delphys Green Power 200 kVA, Masterys Green Power 40, 100 and 120 kVA and the Masterys Mission Critical 100 and 120 kVA.
