An intelligent choice for reducing power costs

Following a breakthrough in intelligence technology that can now cut energy bills even further, leading UK suppliers of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions, Borri Ltd, has released its latest range of ultra-efficient UPS systems.

Exclusively developed by Borri S.p.A, the innovative new B9000FXS and B9600FXS series incorporates Smart OnLine technology (SOL), which cleverly monitors the quality of power supplied, and chooses the most efficient operating mode based on the environmental conditions at the time and can achieve efficiency levels of up to 99 percent.

Unlike other UPS Systems, SOL allows the user to select how and when it is to operate in a high-efficiency, direct line mode. The system will always revert to a conditioned line mode as default, until an operator defines the characteristics to run in high-efficiency direct line mode, giving the user total control.

Borri's new SOL technology empowers the UPS system to automatically switch between the two operating modes depending on the quality of the mains supply and in line with the characteristics specified by the user.

A development of Borri's successful ECO-UPS solutions, the FXS range retains the same precision engineering, functionality and multifunctional characteristics of its predecessors, such as IGBT input (insulated gate bipolar transistors), high energy absorbing filters and multi-level protection, but provides even greater efficiency, which can help businesses hit tough power usage and carbon reduction targets.

In addition, the new FXS range also comprises a sophisticated load based shutdown (LBS) function, designed to maximise the efficiency of parallel redundant installations.

Businesses that utilise the LBS function will significantly increase the efficiency of the UPS solution and therefore reduce power usage and lower energy bills.

Historically, clients who wanted or needed a high level of resilience (N+1, 2N architecture) from their UPS solutions had to make sacrifices with respect to increasing the power consumption as the UPS efficiency drops as the load percent decreases.

However, Borri's LBS technology intelligently monitors the connected load on the UPS and maximises capacity of each UPS within a parallel redundant solution, any 'spare' UPS modules will be put to sleep and their static switch output blocked.  In the event of failure of other UPS modules or an increase to the connected load then 'spare' modules will return to normal operation instantaneously (within 2ms).

Borri is dedicated to developing its technologies to continually improve its existing products and this latest development in technology for reducing power consumption is already setting new standards for more efficient UPS solutions.

To further demonstrate its commitment to increasing power efficiency, Borri recently introduced a UPS scrappage scheme, which offers a minimum £1,000 to end users if they replace an existing UPS system with an ECO-UPS solution.
