The CT Analyzer from Omicron provides fast and cost-effective testing and verification of current transformers for protection and metering applications. It automatically determines all relevant current transformer values and compares the results with the selected IEC or IEEE standard.
The very small and lightweight (< 8kg) device offers an outstanding accuracy of 0.02 % in ratio and 1 min in phase angle deviation, making it the most suitable mobile test device for testing CTs up to accuracy class 0.1.
The latest version of the CT Analyzer has been improved with new hardware accessories and software functions
Residual magnetism measurement
The latest measurement function of the CT Analyzer – the RemAlyzer – allows current transformers to be tested for residual magnetism.
Residual magnetism can occur when current transformers are confronted with very high AC currents or DC offset during fault conditions. Core saturation effects caused by residual magnetism may lead to incorrect operation of the protection relays.
Testing of multi-ratio CTs
The CT Analyzer can be extended by the CT SB2 switch box, enabling testing of current transformers with multiple taps, without the need for rewiring. The CT SB2 is a standalone unit, which can be attached to the CT Analyzer. It provides simple, color-coded, six-channel connection possibilities, guaranteeing convenient wiring and avoiding time-consuming and error-prone reconnection.
Due to its wide functionality range and easy handling the CT Analyzer is the ideal solution for on-site testing and calibration of single and multi-tap current transformers for protection and metering purposes.
