Flexible, modular UPS system provides future proof scalability

Dale Power Solutions is celebrating the success of its new E500 UPS, the latest addition to the family of power protection products.

The new system, boasting a modular design that cuts maintenance costs, increases reliability and offers excellent scalability, is proving a big hit.

Sales across the range have exceeded expectations, with DPS enjoying strong demand despite the current economic environment.

With new models in the pipeline and the market ever-expanding, Dale is excited about the E Series’s future prospects.

Key to the E Series’s success, particularly for the larger models like the E500, is its modular design, where the main components – the UPS power module, the display panel and the controller – can all be easily changed by the customer.
This offers unbeatable scalability, making it easy for the customer to increase the rating of its UPS system as its requirements grow, by adding further modules.
UPS Product Director Roger Clay believes that such flexibility of design has paid dividends.

“We have vast experience of both the design and manufacture of stand alone UPS, built up over more than twenty years and felt there was a big opportunity for a cost-effective, modular design solution,” he says. “Hot-swap modules offer reduced cost, lower repair time and increased reliability, availability and scalability.”

For mission critical applications loss of power can be catastrophic,  “Dale will provide a product that will protect customers’ critical supplies against supply failure and the cost-effective E Series, with all its flexibility, backed by Dale’s unmatched national service and maintenance capability, fits their needs perfectly.”

The E Series is a cost-effective UPS, providing protection in an era when the continuity and quality of mains power is becoming less reliable. Mains power disruption can result in the loss of service and corruption of IT servers for many hours.  The cost, both financial and in customer inconvenience, can be extremely damaging. The E Series is supplied into markets as diverse as emergency services, health, financial services, transport, industry and IT.  It has been designed specifically to work with the Dale range of generators, providing an integrated solution to guarantee continuous power for customers.

The E Series was designed to enhance the Dale range of power protection products and with more than 75 years of technical excellence and industry know-how to call upon, Dale is well-placed to design and provide product that would meet customers’ existing and future needs and expectations. Dale also has an existing and unrivalled installation, maintenance and service capability with more than 80 trained engineers UK wide.

The E Series provides industry standard SNMP remote communications to provide the customer with real time operational data, including email alerts and the ability to be monitored on or off-site. The systems are also amongst the best in energy efficiency, including an ECO mode, achieving lower running costs due to active power factor correction.

Typical customers for the E Series include emergency services.  For a police authority the ideal solution to replace an unreliable UPS system running at full capacity was the modular E500 UPS.

As a public-facing body, the police authority had a vast amount of data to handle and store and couldn’t risk a loss of power. The E500 is used to back up a server room against potentially damaging loss of data or data corruption.
