Self-powered’ wireless range gains dual purpose switch

Electrical Review Logo

MK Electric has enhanced the Echo range of innovative ‘self powered’ switches with the addition of the K5420R, a combination switch receiver and repeater designed mainly for installation in ceiling voids for wiring into the lighting circuit.

This latest development further reduces the stock required to wire an installation because, when installed and powered but not programmed with transmitters, it will work as a repeater, so eliminating the need to stock separate repeaters.

The unit can act as a repeater for an unlimited number of transmitters or alternatively be programmed with up to 30 individual transmitters and requires just 0.3W standby power. It works in both active and passive mode, which the user selects. In active mode, the relay is powered up open if there is a power failure while, in passive mode, the relay is powered up closed.
