Lighting management for cancer centre

Electrical Review Logo

Delmatic has supplied a sophisticated lighting management system to The London Clinic's new cancer centre, providing enhanced control for patients and staff while minimising lighting energy consumption.

The lighting management system, comprising a range of products from Delmatic's Metro family of products, uses a DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) control module to deliver digital dimming and scene setting throughout patient rooms and wards, as well as monitoring and highlighting lamp failure.

A key feature of the specification, by the appointed M&E consulting engineers Cundall, was that the system should be able to merge DALI control across three circuits, as the medical requirements necessitated two lighting circuits plus a central battery circuit per room. The Delmatic Metro DALI Buswire dimming modules enabled the lights fed from the three circuits to be locally controlled together for both switching and scene-set dimming.
