Building services specialist EIC has secured a maintenance contract with UK supermarket Tesco. The Midlands-based contractor, which has regional offices across the UK, has won the competitive tender to provide electrical maintenance for Tesco stores in the north of England and Scotland.

Managed from EIC headquarters in Warwickshire, the work will be carried out by teams from EIC's northern and Scottish offices. The contract will include reactive maintenance of all Tesco electrical systems for more than 500 stores, from Express to Extras, across the region.

EIC has enjoyed a long relationship with Tesco and already provides electrical and mechanical installation services for new and refurbished stores across the UK. This latest agreement is the first facilities maintenance contract between EIC and the UK's biggest retailer and demonstrates the breadth of expertise offered by the firm.

Nigel LeMarechal, joint managing director of EIC, has worked with Tesco for more than 15 years and is delighted to see the relationship going from strength to strength. He said: "Tesco is one of the largest and most successful companies in the UK and has always been an important client for EIC.
